State Rep. Joe Bellino, of Monroe, today said he is extremely disappointed in the violent mobs that stormed the U.S. Capitol this week.

The chaos was triggered by individuals who were upset Congress was confirming that President-elect Joe Biden won the election.

 “I am appalled at the behavior of these people who call themselves Americans,” Bellino said. “I never have, nor will I ever, condone violence as an acceptable form of protest no matter the cause. Violence is not part of the America I love. Our republic protects free speech and the right to peaceful protest, but destruction and intimidation never bring positive change.”
