Rep. Bob Bezotte is encouraging Michigan residents to show support to all those who are part of the dining industry by participating in ‘Restaurant Dine-In Day’ on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The appreciation day comes after current COVID-related health orders banning in-person dining are scheduled to expire.

“Our restaurant workers and their families are struggling right now due to the dine-in shutdowns and need our support,” Bezotte said. “I encourage everyone to get out there and enjoy a meal, and if you can, leave a generous tip. Let’s show our restaurant owners we appreciate all they do for our community by giving them support when they need it most.”

Bezotte added that Michigan’s restaurant industry knows how to operate safely with proper protocols in place and encourages everyone to follow appropriate protocols, such as social distancing and mask wearing when possible.

“Because of coronavirus, life has been quite different,” Bezotte said. “But it’s easy to safely eat at restaurants if we are careful. Please make sure you follow CDC guidelines so we can keep our friends, families, and restaurant owners safe.”
