State Rep. Ann Bollin today highlighted her commitment to government efficiency while announcing that she returned 3% of her 2023 office budget allotment back to the state of Michigan. This represents a savings of $3,915.53 from the budget state representatives are allotted to run their legislative office and manage district affairs.

In her five years serving the people she represents in Livingston and Oakland counties, Bollin has returned more than $37,000 in taxpayer dollars back to the state.

“Returning a portion of my office budget is a tangible expression of my firm belief that government should be efficient and mindful of every dollar,” said Bollin, R-Brighton Township. “Government leaders must respect taxpayers and resist the temptation to spend every dime just because it’s there. I will always prioritize the needs of the people over unnecessary expenses, ensuring that every taxpayer dollar is a wise investment in the wellbeing of our state and our communities.”

On Wednesday, the Whitmer administration is scheduled to present the governor’s executive recommendation for the 2024-25 state budget.

“As people throughout Michigan continue to pinch pennies to pay their bills, I hope the governor does the same, prioritizing essential services while looking for ways to keep state government running as efficiently and effectively as possible,” Bollin said.
