State Rep. Bradley Slagh of Zeeland today issued the following statement in response to questions about the integrity of Michigan’s presidential election:

“The integrity of our elections process is incredibly important, and it is equally important that our state and local leaders are completely transparent. Without transparency and accountability, how can we expect the public to have confidence that our elections are conducted fairly and securely?

“All local clerks and election workers must follow state law and all legal votes cast in accordance with our election laws must be counted. If the facts show there were violations of law, there must be a thorough and transparent investigation and people must be held accountable. I will always fight to preserve election integrity and would support the formation of a joint legislative committee to look into any credible allegations of fraud. Michigan voters have legitimate concerns and they deserve answers.”
