State Rep. Jaime Greene today provided a legislative update on The Bob Dutko Show, covering a variety of important political topics at both the state and federal level.
Greene commented on the governor’s State of the State address and the need to improve education in the state of Michigan.
“Her speech was very polished, upbeat, and positive,” said Greene (R-Richmond). “But, at the end of the day, I don’t see any results. It is worth repeating that Michigan is 44th in the nation in reading. She even called it a ‘crisis.’ But the measurable outcome is that we are still 44th nationally. She took credit for many federal wins – blurring the lines between what we have done at the state level and what they have done in D.C.”
Greene also addressed the current conflict in Iran.
“Democrats in Lansing are acting the same way as our Democrats in DC with regard to Iran,” Greene said. “This is the time to be a patriot – get in there quick – and solve the world’s problems. Even the governor does not believe Iran should have nuclear weapons.”
Housing policy in the state was discussed as well, with Greene slamming current proposals.
“This housing package will be detrimental to the very communities I represent,” Greene said. “Areas with their own plans – from sewage to zoning – are going to be usurped by state regulations.”
Greene appears monthly on the program to discuss the current political issues facing the state of Michigan.
