Rep. Angela Rigas (R-Caledonia) today sent a letter to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel requesting information regarding her office and the Flint Water Crisis.
“As the Oversight Chair of the Weaponization of State Government Subcommittee, I am writing to request detailed information regarding the financial expenditures incurred by your office in the prosecution related to the Flint Water Crisis,” Rigas wrote. “This request falls within the Subcommittee’s mandate to ensure transparency, accountability, and the responsible use of state resources in governmental operations.”
Rigas, who chairs the House Oversight Subcommittee on Weaponization of State Government, requested the attorney general provide an array of documents pertaining to the Flint Water Crisis and related legal cases.
“Michigan residents have entrusted House Republicans with a mandate for truth and transparency,” Rigas said. “There’s significant public interest in these prosecutions, which have been going on for years. Citizens have a right to see how their tax dollars were spent, and we’re going to help them get the answers.”
Rigas requested the documents be submitted to her subcommittee no later than March 25.
“Should you have any questions regarding the scope or intent of this request, please do not hesitate to contact my office,” Rigas wrote to Attorney General Nessel. “Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated as we work to uphold the principles of good governance and fiscal responsibility on behalf of Michigan taxpayers.”
